Does gas deliver more energy than electric?
The electric domestic power point can deliver 10 Amps at 230 volts which equals 2.3 Kw maximum out put of an electric hot point. Gas can deliver as much as you want to spend on the size of the gas appliance. In order to do the same with electric you would need to find special appliances and run heavy duty wiring.
This is why gas water heaters do well, because it is possible to have 30kw gas appliances which can heat water very quickly and not have to store hot water.
In some large use cases you still need to store hot water.
